In the Bleak MidWinter Harp Solo by me (an adult beginner)

EBook with crochet ornaments now available. https://amzn.to/2BTvssW

Adult beginner on harp. My teenage daughter has been taking lessons since she was nine.  I often listen to her lessons and then try my hand at her music.  She and her harp teacher give me pointers.  Slowly but surely, I’m getting the hang of it.  Such a lovely instrument to play.

Uploaded this video for a friend to celebrate her winter solstice birthday.  Enjoy the snowfall and the harp solo.  Lyrics that can accompany this arrangement include:

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan;
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow on snow had fallen, snow on snow on snow;
In the bleak midwinter, very long ago;

Heaven cannot hold Him, nor can earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: I will give my heart;
Yet what I can I give Him: give Him my heart;

(Although there are several other verses that fit the arrangement as well.)

The lyrics are modified from the poem “In the Bleak Midwinter” written by English poet Christina Rosetti in 1872.

(From Wikipedia)
In the bleak mid-winter
Frosty wind made moan;
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak mid-winter
Long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him
Nor earth sustain,
Heaven and earth shall flee away
When He comes to reign:
In the bleak mid-winter
A stable-place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty —
Jesus Christ.

Enough for Him, whom Cherubim
Worship night and day,
A breastful of milk
And a mangerful of hay;
Enough for Him, whom Angels
Fall down before,
The ox and ass and camel
Which adore.

Angels and Archangels
May have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim
Thronged the air;
But only His Mother
In her maiden bliss
Worshipped the Beloved
With a kiss.

What can I give Him,
Poor as I am? —
If I were a Shepherd
I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man
I would do my part, —
Yet what I can I give Him, —

Give my heart.
