Eggnog latte with Cinnamon and Nutmeg.



It’s that time of the year for an Eggnog latte sprinkled with nutmeg and cinnamon. I used incredibly rich and delicious eggnog from homestead creamery that I found Wholefoods . You know it’s got to be good if there’s no nutritional label attached. Splurge and get the best eggnog. You only use a little on the espresso, so pick a nice creamy one!

Same goes for the spices. My favorite spices are from Penzeys. I especially liked the Ceylon Cinnamon for this one. Soft yet flavorful; it doesn’t overpower the eggnog. If you like a more intense cinnamon, try Penzey’s China Cinnamon Tung Hing. Also delicious! The palmiers were made yesterday (for an event tonight). I sacrificed two just to make sure they are acceptable for the event. 😀

 If you want to recreate this, pull a shot of espresso, add frothed eggnog, sprinkle cinnamon & nutmeg on top using a template of your choice .... if you don’t have any coffee topper templates, design your own with stiff parchment paper or card stock. Just make sure that you leave a nice large border around the cut out design, so that the template lays well over the edge of your cup.  If you use a flimsy, piece of paper, you might want to tape it to the cup before dusting with cinnamon and nutmeg.
