Quick & Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups (Heart-shaped)

Quick & Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. (Any nut butter will work.)
(Recipe makes 16 servings.)

A quick and easy after school snack.  Very easy for kids to do too.  Shape them into a heart for a special Valentine’s Day treat!

Approx. 1-2 cups chocolate chips.
Approx. 2/3 cup nut butter.
16 mini baking cups or cupcake wrappers

  1. Melt about 1 cup of the chocolate chips using a microwave or double-boiler. Using a spoon or small silicone spatula, line the bottom of each baking cup with chocolate until it’s about 0.25 inch thick.  This filled about 1/3 of the baking cup.
  2. Chill slightly.
  3. Top each of the chilled chocolate layers with peanut butter until you are about 2/3 of the way up the baking cup.  The peanut butter layer will again be about 1/4 in thickness.
  4. Melt the remaining chocolate and smooth another chocolate layer on top of the peanut butter.  Shape the baking cups into desired shape and place tray in refrigerator to chill. I chose to shape these as hearts.
  5. Unwrap and enjoy!
  6. These will freeze well too!
