Crocheting a Glass Beaded Snake Necklace.

You’ll need a few materials to get started, including a variety of beads, threads to fit your beads, a beading needle, a small crochet hook, etc.  See the complete DIY pattern oRavelry & Amazon.

Pattern includes two color combinations.

Crocheting the tail tip.

The video above shows a behind the scenes look at creating the tail tip.  This may be a little hard at first if you aren’t used to using such tiny seed beads. Practice with larger beads until you get familiar with the pattern and the stitches.  You can also place a support within the crocheted tube to help you see the stitches better.

Here I have placed another crochet hook inside the beaded tube to keep it more rounded.  The stitches are easier for me to identify as I bead crochet.

The video above provides a behind the scenes look at joining sections when bead crocheting the snake necklace.  You’ll want to bead your sections in manageable lengths to prevent the thread from knotting or tangling.

I work with about 3ft - 4ft (approx 1-1.5m) of beaded thread. When you finish bead crocheting a section, you’ll bead your new section of thread and then start crocheting where you left off.  Simply join the new section of thread in the last stitch you completed in the previous section.  Continue to bead crochet with the new thread.

The tail and head can be a little more difficult to bead crochet.  If you are new to bead crochet, you may want to start with a simpler pattern.  One option is to bead crochet the tube and then use jewelry end caps.  You can purchase snake end caps if you want to keep the snake theme.  Or, use any end caps that fit your seed bead crocheted tube.

The instructions for this style necklace are also available. Instructions available oRavelry & Amazon. The instructions for this style include several color combinations.
